Annualized premium of life insurance policies in force in Japan FY 2013-2022, by type
In the fiscal year 2022, annualized premiums from individual insurance policies in force in Japan amounted to around 21.8 trillion Japanese yen. Individual annuity insurance policies in force amounted to 5.9 trillion yen. The annualized premium is the amount of premium income which a life insurer would receive in one year, under the assumption that the premium is equally divided and paid throughout the entire contract period.
